The Perfect Travel Protein Shake (no refrigeration needed!)

Being a flight attendant, it’s often hard to eat healthy. Sometimes I meal prep and carry my food with me, but a lot of times I am lazy and only want to pack nonperishable items that I don’t need a cooler or icepacks for – because carrying more items than I need gets heavy and I like to travel light! That’s why when I discovered Koia Plant Based Protein Shake, I became obsessed!

Calories: 180

Protein: 20g

Fat: 6g

Carbs: 12g

Sugar: 3g

Fiber: 6g

It’s also vegan!

 

This protein shake does not need to be refrigerated, so I just put them in my bag before each trip and then when I get to my hotel, I usually put them in the hotel room fridge overnight (I think they taste better cold) and drink them every morning. I also drink them almost everyday when I’m not working as well. I like to bring them to the gym with me and drink it on my walk home as a quick post-workout meal.

I currently like to work late flights and I almost always wake up too late to get free hotel breakfasts, so this is a perfect alternative. I’ve tried every flavor and Cacao Bean is my favorite. If you aren’t a chocolate person, vanilla is a close second. I have liked every flavor, but this is how I would rank them:

  1. Cacao Bean
  2. Vanilla Bean
  3. Coffee
  4. Chocolate Banana

They sell this brand at Whole Foods, but you can only get the shelf stable version of the protein shake on Amazon – I get it with subscribe and save every 2 weeks. It is delicious, filling, healthy, and convenient!
