What you choose to wear to your flight attendant interview is a big deal. After all, flight attendants have to be presentable and in full uniform compliance every day we fly. Whether it’s a video interview or a face-to-face interview, always dress for the job!! (again, I would dress just as well for the video interview). This is not the time to make a big fashion statement. Keep it simple and classy. Make it easy for the interviewer to visualize you in a professional airline uniform.

These are my tips:
1. Wear a Neutral Color Suit
Dark blue/navy or black are the best colors to wear. You can also wear grey, brown, or tan.
A white blouse/shirt with a collar would be best to wear with your suit. If you don’t want to wear white, choose another light color.

2. Wear Closed Toe Shoes
Shoes should be solid black leather
For women, it’s best to wear heels – but not too high (1 to 3 inches)

3. Always Wear a Watch
Having good time management is a huge part of the job.
Honestly, I HIGHLY recommend the Apple Watch for flight attendants. It updates your time zone automatically! Thats a big deal when you are constantly flying all over the place. It tells you the city you’re in, the date, and the day of the week – all things us flight attendants constantly forget. It also tells you the temperature, which is extremely helpful when you’re not familiar with a city you’re laying over in.

I know it’s expensive- so if you don’t want to buy one just yet, here are some other good options:

4. Keep Jewelry to a Minimum
Only wear jewelry if it compliments your outfit. If you wear earrings, make sure they’re studs.
5. Keep Makeup Simple
Natural makeup is best. Mascara, eyeliner and natural color eyeshadow with red or pink lips.
6. Have Polished Nails That Are Not Too Long
Clear, light pink, and nude are always great choices
7. If Your Hair Is Longer Than Shoulder Length, Wear It Pulled Back or up
